Buying Info

Buying a Vehicle Has Never Been This Simple

Skip the headaches and enjoy an easier way to shop.

Tired of the usual hassles?

  • Searching endless listings, only to be disappointed in person.
  • Driving all over town on someone else's schedule.
  • Meeting strangers in unsafe or inconvenient locations.
  • Being pressured by aggressive sellers or salespeople.
  • Overpaying at dealerships with high overhead and fixed prices.

Mountain Motor Exchange eliminates all of this.

Why Buy at Mountain Motor Exchange?

  • No dealers, no commissions, no fees.
Every vehicle is sold directly by the owner—just regular people like you.
  • Hundreds of vehicles, one location.
Cars, trucks, boats, RVs, and motorcycles—all gathered in one place.
Selection changes every weekend, so there's always something new.
  • See vehicles in person.
Used vehicles need to be evaluated face-to-face—not from a photo.
Only about 10% of buyers end up buying the exact model they planned on, and seeing many vehicles side by side speeds up the decision process.
  • Friendly, pressure-free experience.
Mountain Motor Exchange staff simply unlock and start vehicles for security purposes—they don't sell, pitch, or offer opinions.

How It Works

1. Browse the lot at your own pace.

Every vehicle has a Mountain Motor Exchange Vehicle-Profile Card with year, make, model, mileage, price, features, and seller contact info.

2. Screen vehicles securely.

Staff will unlock and start vehicles during event hours for your initial inspection.

3. Contact sellers directly.

Call the number on the Vehicle Profile to ask questions, schedule test drives, or negotiate price.

4. Pay the seller directly.

Most sellers accept cashier's checks, cash, or electronic transfer. Financing must be arranged on your own.

Key Things to Know

  • Open every weekend—rain or shine.
  • Best selection is Saturday. Vehicles check in and sell all weekend.
  • Free parking for buyers. But no "For Sale" vehicles allowed outside the official lot.
  • No inventory lists or phone lookups. Vehicles sell too fast to track online.
  • No salvage title vehicles allowed (to our knowledge). Sellers certify this on check-in.
  • Vehicle pricing and descriptions are provided by sellers. Mountain Motor Exchange is not a dealer and does not warranty any vehicles.
  • Research is easy. Bring your smartphone to check Kelley Blue Book or Carfax instantly.
  • No dogs on campus. Pavement is too hot for paws anyway.

Event Hours

  • Event Hours (staff present): Vehicles can be opened and started.
  • Preview Hours: Lot is open for walking only—vehicles remain locked.
  • Lot Closed: Gates locked, no entry (but full security on site).
